Who should apply?
Student Engineers! Preference is given to mechanical engineers, but we will also accept applications from Petroleum, Chemical, and Electrical engineers. Ideally students will have completed their freshman year of college and completed an engineering course or two. We accept applications from Sophomore through PhD level students. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis. Apply today!
Each program cycle is a 7-month time commitment that includes two face-to-face meetings as well as monthly zoom calls with your teams. One meeting in the Fall (Oct/Nov), one meeting in April. The meetings are organized to run like business meetings with experienced speakers, offsite industry tours, team building, a semester project, and peer/mentor networking opportunities.
What's the cost?
The L.E.A.D. Student Program is fully funded by the Petroleum Division of ASME. This means ASME covers the cost of travel, hotel and all food and transportation while you are on ASME business. ASME will reimburse each student for their expenses after the duration of each trip.
